UAE economy grows 4.6% in first half of 2026 as non-oil sectors lead
Non-oil activity now accounts for more than three-quarters of output, with trade, financial services and real estate accelerating.

The UAE’s real gross domestic product grew 4.6% year on year in the first half of 2026, according to preliminary figures, as non-oil sectors – now roughly 76% of the economy – continued to outpace the hydrocarbon sector.
Trade, transport and financial services posted the fastest growth, while real estate kept expanding on strong residential demand in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Diversification is no longer a distant goal; it is a reality the numbers confirm quarter after quarter.
Trade takes the lead
Non-oil foreign trade reached record levels, helped by the comprehensive economic partnership agreements signed with markets in Asia and Africa.
Analysts expect growth of 4% to 5% for the full year, supported by foreign direct investment and firmer domestic demand.
